The University of Ottawa Skills and Simulation Centre (uOSSC) houses four state-of-the-art high-fidelity simulation rooms including two operating rooms, one intensive care room and one labour and delivery suite/emergency room. These rooms are built to clinical standards to ensure life-like experiences. Everything a trainee would find in their clinical setting is available during simulations. Learning occurs in these environments without risk to real patients, as full body mannequins are used for all training. Current mannequins simulate everything from pulses, heart and breath sounds to sweating and bleeding. These rooms are equipped with multiple cameras and microphones to capture and allow playback for debriefing purposes.
