Simulation-based medical education involves a wide range of tools for hands-on training and experience. These include anatomically correct plastic models of human body parts called part-task trainers, and virtual reality trainers used to teach entire operations.

We provide a full-service conference and event venue. From plenary sessions to break out sessions to hands on workshops whatever your needs we have you covered.

Event Coordination

Our Coordinator will work with you to organize your event. This service includes, booking our space and resources, estimating costs, meeting with you to determine event requirements, with vendors and all other logistics. Please contact uossc@toh.ca for more information.

Catering

Our facility is equipped for catered events, including a kitchen for prep and storage of refrigerated items. Please contact uossc@toh.ca for more information.

A/V Setup

Our rooms are equipped with projectors, LCD screens and cameras for presentations or playback/recording of simulation sessions or OSCEs. We also offer videoconferencing and live surgery services. Please contact uossc@toh.ca for more information.

Room Setup/Teardown

Our team will work with you to determine your event requirements and will then take care of setup/tearing down for your event.

Simulation Operation

Our Simulation Technician team will program and operate our manikin for your curriculum.

Cadaver Services

Our facility is equipped to handle multi station cadaveric labs. Our team will prepare the specimens and coordinate with the anatomy lab once your workshop has been approved. Please contact anatomy@uottawa.ca to request specimens.
