The uOSSC facilitates skills training with more than 3000 sq. ft. of specially designed space equipped with audio-visual capabilities for lecture and video capture. Trainees practice many skills such as intravenous (IV) insertion, suturing, intubation and various surgical procedures. Twelve mobile work stations are located in one room, which can be divided in half to allow for separate sessions, and an additional lead-lined room contains eight mobile stations to accommodate X-ray of specimens. Each work station has dedicated power and suction built into the floor.
